NURS 1101 - Fundamentals of Nursing Credit Hours: 7 Lecture/Lab Hours: 5 hours class, 6 hours lab per week This course is designed to introduce the beginning student to nursing, concepts essential to the practice of nursing, and the role of the nurse as a care provider. The clinical, laboratory, and simulation experiences involve the implementation of the nursing process and utilization of assessment and communication skills related to basic needs and life processes of individual patients. Factors, such as developmental levels, sociocultural differences, and mental & emotional status are included.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the ASN Nursing Program. NUTR 1110 , BIOL 1180 and BIOL 1181 Corequisite(s): NUTR 1110 , BIOL 1180 and BIOL 1181
