MUSM 3301 - Material Culture Credit Hours: 3 A study of the tangible evidence of civilization, including through the perspective of Appalachian culture. Material culture is presented within the context of folk life and traditional craftsmanship, including crafts, arts, traditional foodways, clothing, tools and technology. Students examine material folk culture from various methodological and theoretical perspectives, including artifact analysis and fieldwork.
