MECH 3300 - Thermodynamics II Credit Hours: 3 A continuation of the study of thermodynamics, with special emphasis on equations of state, calorimetry, processes, heat engines and the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Topics include PVT relationships of pure substances, caloric equations of state, properties of multi-phase substances, processes of compressible and incompressible gases, liquids, solids, and multi-phase substances, the Carnot heat engine, entropy, refrigeration and heat pump cycle, the Third Law of Thermodynamics and the analysis of Carnot cycles.
