HONR 3351 - Consumption, Consumerism, and Sustainability Credit Hours: 3 In this interdisciplinary seminar, students explore how/why we purchase and consume, the human behavioral patterns underlying and compelling these decisions, and the actual impact of these choices on ourselves, our communities, and the environment. Students will: establish and expand practical knowledge bases; create a productive dialogue within the class and their community, and see discourse as instrumental to progress; view themselves as ongoing and engaged citizens of the world; approach material with an open-minded and interdisciplinary methodology; and be solution-focused (even if change is incremental).
