HIST 4405 - History of Africa Credit Hours: 3 This course examines the history of Africa from ancient times to the present analyzing contending ideas about the history of Africa and Africans. Topics covered include the origin of humans, early empires, and religion in Africa. The impact of outside influences from the African Diaspora to Imperialism and the Cold War are an integral part of the course. Additionally, an examination of African art, literature, music, and food provide a balanced picture of the rich history of the African continent and its people.
Prerequisite(s): HIST 2211 or HIST 2212 or HIST 2213
