NURS 3360 - Nursing Ethics


Credit Hours: 3
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3 hours class per week
This course explores the values, codes, principles, and professional standards that govern bioethical and ethical decisions in professional nursing practice. The course supports the student in developing the professional role and the values of altruism, autonomy, human dignity, integrity, and social justice. The course investigates the emerging field of genomics as it relates to ethical decision-making. Case studies of ethical dilemmas are analyzed, and concepts learned are applied to nursing practice.

Prerequisite(s): NURS 3350  or may be taken concurrently. Active, unencumbered registered nursing license required.
